I started building community young… too young, really.
At CU Denver I ran my first community programs and initiatives as an undergrad. The project was a large-scale capital funding project to build an engaged campus community among students through advocacy for community services.

The project, called the CU Denver Wellness Center Feasibility Study, which established the values I hold in any professional role:
Transparency. Inclusion. Persistence.
The project challenged me to lead a team of peers to solicit community input through public communication, surveys, focus groups and online engagement, create and present capital project recommendations to university and state-wide leadership, and empower voter education which resulted in record-breaking 20.4% voter turnout to pass funding for the project with 61.1% approval.

Now standing on Speer Blvd, the Salazar Student Wellness Center is now open and operational as a service to CU Denver students in the heart of Downtown Denver.
